Iron Lung by ICON 1000 23 December 14
The motorcycle apparel manufacturer ICON are totally committed to motorcycles and even work in collaboration with builders to create their own custom bikes. The team are called ICON 1000 and their 'about us' page says "One thousand is the empirical number that forms the boundary between boy and man. The displacement threshold between novice and expert. One thousand has always been the goal."
A look at their website shows that are creative and have produced a unique selection of bikes including one that caught my eye, The Iron Lung. There isn't much information about it but it looks like a grass roots bike that would be difficult to tame.
The Iron Lung is a raw machine based on a 1991 Harley Sportster and the gravelly voiced narrator in the video tells the story of its conception.
The ICON 1000 description of the Iron Lung
She was an accident waiting to happen. 600 pounds of American coke fired iron, riding on weather-checked English rubber. Cracking femurs or rupturing internal organs were her specialties, and she had done so on more than one occasion. The Iron Lung, a 1991 Harley Sportster roadracer, was a vision of what never was, in response to a question that was never asked.
