Triumph Forty by Rustom 13 February 16

Mattia and Roberto are the founders of Rustom, a custom motorcycle workshop based in Lodi, 30 or so miles outside of Milan Italy. They found a stock 2002 carb model, 790cc Triumph Bonneville and used it a donor for their 'Forty" project. This bike has been designed especially for a customer on the occasion of his fortieth birthday and it is therefore called "Forty".

The bike is all made of metal, no components in composite material and each element has been created, specially shaping the metal to give the desired shape. The design of the bike is vintage, and inspired by a board tracker with low, wide handlebars. The color and finish also pay tribute to bikes of the last century.

On closer inspection however, you can see that the bike adopts ultramodern technologies such as fingerprint recognition to start the bike, and the GPS, both integrated in the tank as well as other controls that are placed in the classic position on the handlebars. The modernity continues on the headlight, taillights and turn signals which are all LED units.

An unusual but distinctive part of the design are the special sheaths that cover the fork legs, which further enhance the vintage look. Looking around the bike you will see a continuous mix of modern and antique elements.
