Goodwood 12 Cafe Racer – VTR Customs 21 April 16
VTR Customs from Switzerland is known for their great work on BMW’s and it looks like they have a slight preference for the already legendary R NineT. So to add a little variety in their builds they selected another model of donor bike. Since VTR Customs is a part of an official BMW dealership, they chose another bike from the BMW stable; the R1200R.
The inspiration for the design comes from the historic 1930's Bentley Blower. These cars were all British Racing Green with brushed aluminum parts and tobacco leather interior. That's why the bike earned the name Goodwood 12.
The tail is crafted from aluminium and it took a week and a half of work on its own. Aluminum was also used for the shark gills on the fuel tank and for the fenders. Clip-on handlebars and yellow round headlight give the Goodwood 12 the necessary cafe racer look. The Kineo spoke wheels are spectacular and the rear is a massive 6", they fit tubeless tires. The exhaust is a titanium Akrapovic and the air filters are by K&N.
